the mort chronicles part II

It was a fun and happy time at the Mort's home during these years. James and Liam were growing up wonderfully, they shared a strong bond, even if their very little brother Nazareth II was being left out most of the time, he was still too young to understand it really. No one knew, how strong the bond between James and Liam really and truly was, even at that time..

Then happened, what no one expected. Flora got pregnant for a forth time, and even the doctor's seemed positive, that it would be a little girl this time. Flora's sons were growing up fastly, there would be quite some difference in age between them and their little sister, except for Nazareth II, he'll be closer to his sister than to his brothers, since James and Liam always kept to themselves.

During a cold winter's night, 'Elizabeth' was finally born. The last child and only daughter of Flora and Nazareth Mort. Pampered and loved by everyone, it seemed that she would have a sheltered childhood.
James and Liam were allowed to share a room. Flora and Naz didn't think it would be awkward or wrong to let them enjoy their unique bond as brothers, even though they knew they were sleeping in the same bed, they never thought of it in a seriously romantic way. The truth was, the relationship between James and Liam was serious and romantic, even if not sexual yet, the tension and the sparks between them were inevitable.

Then happened something, that would change the lives of the Mort's forever. Nazareth and Flora were caught in a fire during a journey abroad, and couldn't be saved on time. They died in this fire, both at a too young age, leaving behind their four children to live on their own.

The police came by to tell them the terrible news. James and Liam were still teenagers, Nazareth II was barely ten years old and little Elizabeth was two. At this point, no one really knew, if they would be able to make it through this hard time, to survive, and to stay together as a family, for they are all that's left to each other.

the mort chronicles part I

Flora and Nazareth Mort were a newly married couple who moved to Sunset Valley, to start a completely new life together. Earlier they've both been living in another town, but they've run away together, because of an old family feud that was impeding their love, needless to say them marrying each other. Flora's one of the descendants of the ancient Sylvan family, whose history tells the story of an old, beginningless feud against the Mort family. And now, that the line was crossed, they had to escape their old life, and they moved to an old, abandoned mansion in Sunset Valley.

Soon after, their first son was born. They named him 'James'. He was the mirror image of his father, but had the typical, faintly verdant skin of a Sylvan. With the birth of James, happy times were brought to this old house. A child's innocent spirit does miracles to even the darkest of places.
Shortly after, their second son 'Liam' was born. One could say, he was the exact opposite of his brother. He had the same green eyes and fair hair like Flora, but got his father's azure skintone. James dearly loved his little brother and tried to protect him from every possible danger, even though both of them were still so little.

Flora gave birth to her third child, only one year later. He was an exact replica of his father's, only his green eyes could tell he was Flora's son too. They named him 'Nazareth II'. Though, Flora was desperately wishing for a little girl, but it seemed like she wasn't meant to have her will at this.

the seal..

Sienna didn't say a word about what she knew, but everyone noticed that she suddenly seemed happier than before. Talis was growing up fastly, and he had just started going to high school, when Sienna's pregnancy was showing off slightly (on the picture it's Talis and Tristan.)

Everyone wondered about Sienna, but she seemed happy and no one wanted to make her miserable again, so they didn't ask her about anything. Diego was still trying to think positively, he was truly trying to convince himself that she'd found a new love, and that the child was not Samuel's. He didn't know much about her private life, since she never really talked to him. So he wanted to ask her straight out, what was going on, and who the father was. He knew, if she told him it was Sam, that they'd been seeing each other even after he forbid them this relationship.

The "showdown" took place in the children's room, it was pure coincidence: Talis was playing chess again, that boy was a true genius, and Sam had just wanted to bring Tristan to bed. Sienna has been watching Sam and Tristan play before. Then Diego came in.
"Sienna, you have truly no right to keep things from us any longer."
"What do you mean, father?"
She was feeling only despite for her father, she could not help but hate him for what he did to them. She was convinced that he destroyed their love, she fully blamed him on how Sam was reacting the morning after their reunion, and that he rarely looked her in the eye since. She blamed him for the pain, the grief and the despair.
"Why should I tell you who the father is? What does it mean to you, anyhow. You hate me. You hate us, me and my children. And this, I will neither forgive nor forget, ever."
"It's him. I can't believe you lied to me. Both of you!"
"I can't believe you made me lie to you!"
Diego smiled bitterly. This man seemed broken.
"This family is cursed. And you will burn in hell, that's for sure." There came no more reaction from him, and he left the room. Sienna didn't know what to do, but she was as confident as ever. She loved her children, and she would not let anyone harm them. She was kind of relieved that her father knew the truth now, the only thing she feared was Samuel. She hadn't told him it was his child she was bearing, and she didn't know what to expect when he finds out.

She gave birth to her and Sam's third son Théo three days later. It seemed tradition, that the names of their children began with "T", so they had decided after the birth of Tristan, because their names started with the same letter as well. Not only this had made Sam realize it was his son. He had of course heard the conversation between his sister and his father the other day, and he still haven't talked to Sienna about the child really being his son yet. He thought she'd found a new love, he knew he should have been happy for her at that moment, he knew he should have wished for her to have a normal life, like she deserved it. But inside, he felt lost and broken, and suddenly wished for nothing more than to go back in time to that infamous morning, and tell her that it was not a mistake, that he loved her and wanted this. So the news he heard that day, that it was indeed his child, made him realize, that he could not reject Sienna anymore, and that he should not even want to, for it made even their children feel guilty and unhappy.

"Sienna, wait. We have to talk about this."
She smiled, and came closer to him. "He's yours, Sammy. I thought you knew."
"I believed you found someone else. Someone who could love you like you deserve it."
"I cannot love another man the way I love you, Samuel. Don't ever forget this again."
"Sienna, I don't want to stay away from you anymore."
"Then don't."
"But you know what that means.."
"It means we love each other. And that only."
And they sealed it with a kiss.

eternity itself..

Talis Cortes was born on a monday morning, and he was a healthy little boy. Sienna and Sam were happier than ever, but their fear lashed with every day that passed. One evening finally, Briana and Samuel got to talk and he told her everything that has been happening and after she asked, if Talis was the child he conceived with his sister, he affirmed. No one could have known, that at this moment something inside Briana broke. Her children were throwing away their lives, and the grandson she and her husband came to love so much, was the result of their sin. She couldn't help blaming herself, and still promised her children, she would not tell their father anything, but that he would probably already know.

As Talis grew bigger, he took extremely after his father, but had the eyes of his mother. He was the little mirror image of his daddy, Sienna adored him all the more because of that. She found their love's immortality in her child, and she couldn't help but wish for more children..

Diego noticed, of course he did. Not only the similiarities between Talis and Sam, but his children's tender relationship and the look Sam had on his face when he was with Talis, but the fact that Talis had called Samuel "daddy" was more than enough. But he didn't say a word. Even if he would have wanted to say something, he was too devastated to face this kind of situation.

Time passed pretty quickly, and things seemed to be normal. Even as Sienna confirmed her second pregnancy, Diego didn't dare to ask who the father was. The atmosphere in the house was more than tense, but Diego seemed too busy with his work at the army, that there was practitcally no opportunity to solve things out. Sienna and Sam were still in their teens, and a second pregnancy only hardened school life for both of them.

They still had to hide their love, but since their parents weren't often at home anymore, life became easier, more normal, as it should have been from the start. Their second son, Tristan Cortes, was born during this, almost carefree time.

Until one night, they had been more careless than usual, and have been longing for each other already all day, and as the twins were kissing in the living room, their parents came home. The secret was oficially out, Briana seemed to have a breakdown, but Diego simply told Sam, he'd want to talk to him outside.

Samuel expected rage and anger, but Diego was more than exploding.
"Is this what I have been teaching you about family life?" he cried out, and nothing than charges and suits were to follow. But even Diego knew, that separating the two of them now would not help, and his grandchildren would need both parents, so he simply said, he didn't want them to sleep together anymore, and he forbid them to have any sexual or romantical contact, otherwise he swore, he'd turn Samuel over to the police department, for incest was strictly forbidden.

Sienna and Sam had to end their bond. They didn't want to be separated, so they sacrificed their hearts. Yes, it was true what their father had said, incest was forbidden. It was wrong. They stopped sleeping in the same bed, neither did they touch or talk anymore. It was too painful. All they could do, was long for each other, long for what was forbidden. The last thing Sienna said to Sam, before they decided to end it, was "Our love was not made for this world. Neither was it made for this life. Our love is eternity itself. I cannot extinguish it, and neither do I wish to do so. But I know that it does not die, just because we can't live it."
